Allan Hill has proven that one man’s garage is indeed another man’s treasure, for he calls an abandoned Packard auto plant home. And, he does so legally and better than you had probably imagined.
Hill’s former Detroit auto plant is equipped with features that you and I have come to expect in anyplace we would consider laying our heads within. The cavernous building, the world’s largest abandoned factory, gives the bearded tenant electricity, Internet access, a small kitchen and a welding setup.
To earn his keep, the gaunt-bodied Hill works as the property’s custodian. Those who want to learn more about Hill and his unusual home can check out the video documenting Hill’s life. It is part of the video series, “This Must Be The Place.”
